The food industry and food service sector are undergoing radical changes as never before, with digital technologies and new delivery platforms creating capabilities that are commercially compelling, whilst at the same time posing often new, and as yet uncategorised, challenges for operators and consumers alike.
Highly innovative changes are already underway through:
- Advances in logistics capabilities with product being made available at a moment’s notice
- New production processes and equipment innovation that speed up the manufacturing process
- Information systems that provide consumers and businesses with actual, relevant and current information on any food product, as it moves through the supply chain
Food on the Move: Innovation and Food Safety in the Age of Delivery, a one-day conference on the Wednesday, 27th of March being held at The Barbican Centre, brings food service operators, health and safety advisors, packaging specialists, equipment manufacturers, standards and regulatory framework developers, leading food service innovators and entrepreneurs and logistic professionals together to share knowledge, best practice and address many of the issues and challenges arising from what is now heralded as The Digital Disruption of Food Delivery. This conference is a first of its kind.
